Jessica + Brian, Hilton Head Island

I was lucky enough to take a trip out to Hilton Head Island a couple of weeks ago for the beautiful wedding of Jessica + Brian (who you may remember from my Washington DC engagement session).  Here’s a little taste of the photos with more to come soon.

Katie + Zach’s Napa Wedding, Vintner’s Golf Club

Still catching up on June’s activities, here we have some pictures from Kate + Zach’s beach-life inspired wedding in Napa.  Check out the little cocktail umbrella place cards in the sand!  So cool!

Anita + Justin, Shakespeare Garden and Chinatown

Phewwww! What a month we’re in! It seems like we’ve been shooting weddings, engagements, portraits… every day for 5 or 6 weeks straight, and, in fact, we practically have been.  So, to get started on playing some catch up we begin with Anita + Justin’s wedding.  After a bright and early start for the getting ready shots and then some door games, our first location for photos was the cool and foggy Legion of Honor.  Anita + Justin did an engagement session with me a while ago, so we were able to jump right in and start getting some great shots.  Their ceremony was at the Shakespeare Garden in Golden Gate Park and the sky cleared up beautifully around 3 for the wedding.  Next we were off to the Empress of China in Chinatown for the banquet.  The Lion Dancers are always a highlight for Lisa and I (in fact, if we were to redo our wedding, we always said we’d have lion dancers) and this crew of dancers really delivered.  There were almost 400 guests!!! at the wedding (I don’t think we could get 400 people in a room if we tried!) and all had a great time.

Carrie + Brian, BR Cohn Day 2

Here we go with some photos from Day 2 of Carrie + Brian’s wine country wedding.   The afternoon began with getting ready at the Moon Mountain estate and watching the Belmont Stakes. Despite the disappointment of Big Brown losing the race, we all carried on.  It was back down to BR Cohn for a reception in their lovely olive orchard.

Carrie + Brian, BR Cohn, Day 1

Chicago locals, Carrie + Brian, chose to have a destination wedding in wine country.  With all of the expense, work, travel and other issues related to having a destination wedding, Carrie came up with a truly wonderful idea, to turn her wedding into 2 days of festivities with family and friends.  I’ll put a post up soon about why multi day weddings are so awesome, but for now, let’s take a look at some shots from day 1.

Carrie did an absolutely fantastic job planning her wedding and making sure everything about it was beautiful and perfect. Carrie + Brian rented an amazing house with 2 cottages up in Sonoma for all their immediate family and wedding party to spend the weekend in.  Their ceremony was at BR Cohn and was the first ceremony to be held at BR Cohn’s new ceremony site, Fox Hill.  I think this place is now my favorite winery wedding venue. I’ll post on BR Cohn soon, too.

On day one, we shot all the getting ready shots we usually do, set up a first sight for Carrie + Brian then went to BR Cohn for the sunset ceremony and champagne/lemonade hour.  Then it was back to the house for an amazing dinner catered by Grapevine Catering.  The weather was perfect and the sky so beautiful, we wrapped up around 9 with some after dark shots.

I’ll post day 2 soon!

Charlene + Chris’ Engagement Session

Charlene + Chris are getting married in what promises to be a fabulous wedding this October.  About a week ago, we spent almost 6 hours roaming all over San Francisco taking pictures for their engagement session and guestbook.  We started at their favorite SF burger place, Darla’s in the Sunset.  Then it was off to the Mission for the murals, Civic Center and City Hall for cool architecture, the Ferry Building to change clothes, Pier 7 for some romance, Justin Herman Plaza for more cool architecture and then down to Market Street for urban traffic shots.  Oh yeah, somewhere in there we popped into a BART station, too.  Long day with great results.  Take a look!

Neha + Samir, Palm Event Center Wedding

Lisa + I have been swimming in wonderful 2 and 3 day long weddings lately, so I’ve been away from the blog and trying to keep up on our post production.  FInally, though, we have some new work to show.  These shots are from Neha + Samir’s gorgeous Hindu wedding at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton.  You may remember Neha + Samir from their engagement session photos a few months back.

This was our first time shooting at the Palm Event Center and it’s a great venue! Vineyard, winery, bricks, lawns, cool doors… it’s got it all.  Needless to say, Neha + Samir’s great sense of style pervaded their wedding with wonderful and thoughtful details. Their wedding clothes and jewelry were purchased on a recent trip to India, the food was catered by Turmeric in Sunnyvale and the flowers were by Talin of Fleur de Vie.

There are so many great shots, I’ll have to put up a slideshow soon to show the rest.

Lisa + Jake shot this wedding about a week ago at Old St. Mary’s Church in Chinatown and at the St. Regis San Francisco. They did a great job shooting and Eloise + Dennis did a great job being bride and groom. Take a look:

Candy + Caleb, Memorial Church- Stanford

Candy + Caleb were married last weekend at the beautiful Memorial Church on the Stanford University campus.  Candy’s choices for her dress, her flowers, her locations… were all wonderful so everything came together to make for a great wedding.  Thanks to Patty Lee for the flowers and wedding coordination, to the Garden Court Hotel for providing a great venue for the reception and to Russ at Fog City Entertainment for the music that kept everyone dancing.

Vendor of the every other week or so- Andrew Hsu Studio MSV

It’s been awhile since I posted one of my Vendor of the Every Other Week Or So posts, but I’m bringing forward a great vendor for you so I hope it was worth the wait. Andrew Hsu of Studio MSV has really impressed Lisa and I with his fresh take on wedding videography.  Andrew has moved his business away from the traditional (and often dreaded) wedding video by incorporating Super 8mm, High Definition video and bringing a hand crafted artisan touch to the movies he creates.  Check out his ”artisan wedding movies for the couture bride”

Like Lisa and I, Andrew puts great value on rapport with his clients and he customizes his services to suit the bride and groom’s needs.  So, check out his site and let him know we sent you!

Judy + Roger at Hans Fahden Winery Calistoga

Lisa + I were the fortunate photographers chosen to shoot Judy + Roger’s gorgeous wedding at Hans Fahden Winery in Calistoga.  It was a beautiful May day with clear skies and warm weather and the grounds at Hans Fahden are amazing.  Judy put so much thought into all the details of her wedding from her handmade shoes to the delicious dinner and all that effort paid off with a truly wonderful wedding.  Take a look at some of the photos.

Kimi + Carl’s Trash The Dress

I just finished the photoshop work on Kimi + Carl’s totally amazing Trash the Dress session, so take a look.

Half Moon Bay was gray and cool for this shoot but days like that actually make the ocean seem a little warm. Weird?! but true.

Shooting star over the Burlingame Country Club

I’m just finishing up the post production on a wedding from a week ago at the lovely Burlingame Country Club, and I noticed this shot with a shooting star! This particular bride works with satellites, so maybe she planned something in advance, but I prefer to think it was just a really cool coincidence. Make a wish and keep an eye out over the next few days for more photos from this fabulous wedding.

Rebecca + Ethan’s E-Session in Boston

I have another engagement session to share, this time we were shooting in Boston! I’d never been there before so I was really excited to explore the town with a couple of locals. We had great weather and a wonderful time. Their wedding is still a few months away, but after spending some time together I’m more excited then ever to shoot their wedding.

More Trash the Dress Photos!

Sorry for being so slow with the posts lately! I’m trying to get back in the saddle here.

Here are some shots from one of my recent Trash the Dress shoots. The subject is Andrea Toth (of the awesome Studio AYT) and her hubby Brian. After a halting start where we were kicked out of China Camp by one of the Rangers for not having a permit (who knew?), we ran over to Buck’s Landing for the fishing dock shots, then it was over to the classic location of Baker Beach. These two truly brave souls shivered their way all the way into the chilly Pacific for the sake of some great shots. I need to remember to send them a Peet’s Coffee gift card since I’m sure they are still cold.

Jessica + Brian, Washington DC Engagement Session

Last weekend I had the pleasure of traveling to Washington DC toshoot Jessica and Brian’s Engagement Session. It’s been many years since I’ve been in DC and it was great to refresh my memory of all the monuments on the Mall. We really scored on the weather and had a great day. Check out the photos below and if you want to see more, take a look at the slideshow.

Now, especially, since I’ve spent this time with Jessica + Brian, I’m really looking forward to their wedding this year on Hilton Head Island.

Angela’s Trash the Dress

A while back, we offered to do some no charge Trash the Dress shoots and we got a great response! Here are some shots from one of those sessions.

Angela and Brian came up with the great idea of doing a shoot in Yosemite (often forget how close it actually is). So we met up there on a gorgeous friday a couple weeks ago. Take a look and let me know what you think of the results.
