Photography by Lisa + James » Hindu http://lisanjames.com/blog Sun, 15 Nov 2009 00:25:37 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.9.2 en hourly 1 Anita & Vivek, Palm Event Center Wedding http://lisanjames.com/blog/2009/07/28/anita-vivek-palm-event-center-wedding/ http://lisanjames.com/blog/2009/07/28/anita-vivek-palm-event-center-wedding/#comments Tue, 28 Jul 2009 16:12:15 +0000 James http://lisanjames.com/blog/?p=1090 As promised a while back, we have some photos from Anita & Vivek’s wedding at the Palm Event Center!  The festivities started out on a Thursday night with a Sangeet at the groom’s parent’s house.  The first shot below is one of the many amazing performances at the Sangeet.  If you’re not familiar with Indian weddings, the Sangeet is a party thrown by the grooms family where the friends and family of the to-be-weds are asked to entertain the bride and groom.  The talent shown at the Sangeets absolutely amazes me!  I think if my friends and family had to put on performances we’d be lucky to have an off-key ‘Kumbaya’ and someone doing the Molly Ringwold…

The wedding itself followed on Saturday at the Palm Event Center.  Every detail was absolutely beautiful!  Anita showed incredible taste in all of her decisions about decor and then there was the food… OH MY GOD! Delicious!  Hopefully you can tell from the photos, that everyone had a great time at this wedding.  Want to see some more?  Check out the slideshow

We’ve got a TON of great stuff in the works right now, but we are so busy shooting that it’s hard to get new work on the blog.  So, until we can update more thoroughly, here’s a taste from Anita & Vivek’s wedding at the Palm Event Center.  And if you want to eat some AMAZING indian food while you wait, go to Tumeric in Sunnyvale.  It’s out of this world good!

Ria and Parag were married at the Concord Hilton on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend.  They actually had their Sangeet the night before, but Lisa and I were committed to shooting Bree & Terry’s wedding that night so our long time colleague, Julio Duffoo, took over shooting for the night. He did an awesome job, but that’s another post for another day.

As you can tell, Ria looked AMAZING!!!  in both her red sari for the ceremony and her blue sari for the reception. Parag didn’t look to shabby himself.  The couple hired Purvi Shah of Avant Planners for her design and coordination skills, and she did a great job with both aspects.
