Here are some shots from a wedding Lisa shot with our associate Jake (while I was shooting a wedding in Carmel).  Akiko is SO COOL!  Everything about her wedding had great style from her various colored bridesmaids dresses to her awesome shoes.  Everyone started out getting ready at the bold and colorful Argonaut Hotel. Their ceremony was at the Flood Mansion (always a favorite place with Lisa and I).  Take a look at the photos below of Akiko + Sam’s Bold and Beautiful wedding. 

Vidya + VIp had their festive Hindu wedding at Palmdale Estates in Fremont.  The grounds there are lovely and serene even when it’s roasting hot out.  Indian weddings are always so fun!  Partly because we usually get to connect with our clients and their family for more than one day, so there is a great opportunity to build rapport.  Also, since these weddings are often long days, there is none of that “rush to get things done” feeling that can occur when we only have 7 or 8 hours for a wedding.  

After the Palmdale Estates, we hit a couple spots in downtown San Francisco for some shots of Vidya + Vip in different outfits. Then it was off to Terra SF, a newish art space.  Dusty at Terra did a  great job with decorating and lighting.  I’m glad Vidya was thinking outside the box when it came to reception locations since the space was perfectly suited for her wedding.

It just seems so quiet and natural.

I’ve caught a lot of flack lately for not posting enough, so to all of our blog stalkers, I apologize : )  I have 7 more posts lined up and ready to go over the next week or two, and plenty more new work after that.

Lisa and I were super fortunate enough to be able to photograph the wedding of our dear friends, Lisa + Michelle.  Their wedding was a multi day event so this is just a little teaser of what’s to come!

Michelle + Darrell were married a few short weeks ago at the LDS temple in Oakland followed by a reception at the San Francisco Zoo. That’s right, you can have weddings at the zoo! Click the photo above to see a slideshow from the rest of this super fun wedding.

Remember Rebecca + Ethan’s E-Sesh in Boston? Well they had their wedding in Carmel a few weeks ago and it was wonderful.  Rebecca was super stylish and Ethan looked almost as good as his new wife.  Carmel is always beautiful and the first weekend in August was no exception.  Their ceremony was under the Chuppah on the meadow at Quail Lodge with a reception following at the club house.  Rebecca kindly provided J. Crew flip flops for all the girls dancing with sore feet and instead of a cake there was a petit four selection.

Of course, Carmel is really all about beautiful coastline and Quail Lodge is a good way up the valley away from the sea.  So we took advantage of one of the strengths of destination weddings, the fact that everyone stays around for a couple days, and did a bridal after shoot on the beach on Sunday.  All in all, it was such a great weekend and we got tons of great photos. I was lucky enough to take a trip out to Hilton Head Island a couple of weeks ago for the beautiful wedding of Jessica + Brian (who you may remember from my Washington DC engagement session).  Here’s a little taste of the photos with more to come soon.

Still catching up on June’s activities, here we have some pictures from Kate + Zach’s beach-life inspired wedding in Napa.  Check out the little cocktail umbrella place cards in the sand!  So cool! 

Phewwww! What a month we’re in! It seems like we’ve been shooting weddings, engagements, portraits… every day for 5 or 6 weeks straight, and, in fact, we practically have been.  So, to get started on playing some catch up we begin with Anita + Justin’s wedding.  After a bright and early start for the getting ready shots and then some door games, our first location for photos was the cool and foggy Legion of Honor.  Anita + Justin did an engagement session with me a while ago, so we were able to jump right in and start getting some great shots.  Their ceremony was at the Shakespeare Garden in Golden Gate Park and the sky cleared up beautifully around 3 for the wedding.  Next we were off to the Empress of China in Chinatown for the banquet.  The Lion Dancers are always a highlight for Lisa and I (in fact, if we were to redo our wedding, we always said we’d have lion dancers) and this crew of dancers really delivered.  There were almost 400 guests!!! at the wedding (I don’t think we could get 400 people in a room if we tried!) and all had a great time.

Here we go with some photos from Day 2 of Carrie + Brian’s wine country wedding.   The afternoon began with getting ready at the Moon Mountain estate and watching the Belmont Stakes. Despite the disappointment of Big Brown losing the race, we all carried on.  It was back down to BR Cohn for a reception in their lovely olive orchard.
