Continuing with the flow of engagement sessions recently, we bring you Erin & Todd.  We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day for their shoot which started in Golden Gate Park and then moved onto the beach.  Something lately seems to have changed in what I look for to shoot, because I can’t pass up a brick wall.  Is it the color, the texture, the nod to dangerous architecture here in earthquake country?  I don’t know but I’m certainly fond of bricks.  The beach is always a favorite for me, too.  Despite being wide open, the beach feels intimate and calming.  

Erin & Todd’s wedding is more of a destination wedding for them, since they are coming out from NYC for a winery wedding.  Sadly we have to wait until the end of summer to see their wedding photos, but it will be worth the wait : )

As promised, her a are the more of the photos from Amy & Adam’s E-Session last friday.  We started off down by the Ferry Building and Justin Herman Plaza, but from there we hit  a couple new “secret” spots   It’s always great to get to know our couples on these shoots, since we never have much time to chat on the wedding day.  I think another reason we love doing these is because without E-Sessions Lisa and I would be pretty much sitting in front of the computer all week long until we have a wedding on Saturday or Sunday.  So, we get a chance to actually go outside and talk to other people for a little while!  It’s really very exciting for us.

I’m in the middle of editing our most recent E-Session, Amy & Adam’s, and just wanted to put up a a little taste. More to come soon…

Take a look at the third in our string or recent E-sessions.  I think this one has the most “cinematic” quality of the shoots we’ve been doing lately. Which brings up something Lisa and I have been discussing lately, how is our work evolving? We are in the process of rebuilding the website and blog, making new cards, etc…  and we are trying to take a good look of where our photography is headed.  While the bulk of our work still falls into the photojournalistic style, there is a a stronger thread of drama, narrative, cinematic work going on too.

In any case, Anita + Vivek were so much fun to shoot!  So open and receptive to our ideas and it seemed like they were actually having fun, too.  I know their wedding will be awesome!
